As a speaker
Catherine blends her background in physiotherapy, psychology, occupational health and yoga with a unique sense of Scottish humor. Her passion is to educate people about healthcare and lifestyle choices with a sense of fun. She believes that humor can be the catalyst for change, that will move people forward and allow individuals to live a more positive, productive and happier life.
As a Registered Physiotherapist
Trained in Edinburgh University, Scotland, Cathy came to Canada in 1981 and continued her education while working as a physiotherapist in Calgary, Alberta. She is currently practicing physiotherapy in North Vancouver. She is refreshingly optimistic, knowledgeable and has a holistic approach to physiotherapy. Catherine works daily with a range or patients, many of them baby boomers facing their first health crisis. She sees the costs of ignoring the effects of stress, lifestyle and inactivity on long term health. Her speaking practice came out of a desire to reach other practitioners and potential patients before she met them in her office. Her goal is for patients to leave with a sense of hope, passion and energy to embrace change.
“Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it.”
